Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
Josephine joined her high school speech team in the 8th grade and has been an active competitor ever since. During her four years at Concordia, Josephine had the experience of a lifetime competing with the college's speech team. As a veteran competitor, Josephine spent all four years of her undergraduate experience advocating for issues important to her on countless local and national stages. Getting to travel as a competitor to share and listen to other speeches and pieces from teams across the nation helped Josephine grow immensely as a performer, writer, and audience member. Surrounded by other students, both on her team and nationally, created a sense of community that to this day Josephine feel lucky to have been a part of. There is nothing better than having friends all across the nation who support you and the messages you are passionate about sharing!
Being a part of the Concordia College Forensics team strengthened her communication, interpersonal, performative, critical thinking, and team work skills. She is grateful for the all the coaches, teammates, and peers she has worked with at Concordia. Josephine is certain being a part of this program has made her a better person. This team has truly helped her find her voice and being with them always feels like home.
